Thanks for coming by dood. Lotsa recent releases this time & some unknown great tracks. Listen to the songs using the radio & please comment!
1. C.N. Blue - Love generation
Korean / Blue Tory Single [2010.01.18]
I fell in love with the song once I heard the opening riffs. I could tell that it'll be stuck on my head. Who would've thought that rap and singing would work in Kpop-rock.
2. Sambomaster - Sekai wo Kaesasete Okureyo (Kimi no Tameni Tsuyoku Naritai Version)
Japanese / Kimi no Tame ni Tsuyoku Naritai Album [2010.4.21]
Sambomaster yay! Fun fun fun songs all the time. This has a slight ska insert. I also like how the girl enters some parts of the song. Too bad it's only barely 3 minutes long.
3. Jam Hsiao - Forgive me
Chinese / Jam Hsiao Self-titled Album [2008.6.16]
I first heard this sung by Kyuhyun of Super Junior. I prefer Kyuhyun's voice since it's deeper. It creates sadder effect. But I also like
Jam's because he's the original. I immediately wanted more of his music after hearing this. It's really sad and emotional.
4. Tanya Markova - Picture picture
Filipino / Tanya Markova album [2010.??.?]
When I heard the words picture picture online on the radio I immediately thought to myself that I got to have this! This really lifts up my mood.
It's about a guy, his camera & this pretty lady. Sounds familiar? Well the artists were inspired by the movie Shutter. They're a new band & this is their first song. I'm pretty sure it came out not more than 2 months ago.
5. The pillows - Rodeo star
Japanese / Rode Star mate Single [2010.1.20]
No band can make a wacky and quirky song such as this. I love The Pillows man. Especially their works on the OVA FLCL. They always have that quirky thing going on.
6. The Back Horn - Tatakau kimi yo
Japanese / Tatakau Kimi Yo Single [2010.4.21]
Their songs are always great to listen to. Especially when thinking of a fight scene or a cool opening for an anime. I dunno, maybe it's just me too much anime. I prefer this style over visual kei.
7. Bump of chicken - Carnival
Japanese / Mahou no yori Maxi Single [2010.4.21]
Hale they have a new single! As always they come up with a peaceful acoustic song accompanied by an opposite such as this. And I always pick this type over the acoustic just because it doesn't make me sleepy.
This is pretty typical stuff from them but who cares I'm still loving them.
8. Kyuhyun - Smile
Korean / Hyena OST [2006.2.11]
My gawd I almost fell off my chair when I heard this. Never knew how enchanting Kyuhyun's voice is. I've always been captivated by Yesung's out of all the Super Junior members but I guess I've been missing out.
Even though the song is sad (you can tell by the jazzy feel), I find it intoxicatingly romantic. His voice is so caressing!
9. F.Cuz - Go
Korean / No One EP [2010.3.11]
I find this the best out of all the songs in their single. I think they should have made this song as their debut. Not only is it catchy but it breaks away from the current Kpop hit feel that seems to hit or miss for me.
10. Monkey Majik - With you
Japanese / SAKURA single [2010.3.17]
It's been ages since I've caught up with them. I'm glad to hear that what I've liked about them from the start is still here. They have a refreshing style. Like a wave that washes all the writings on the shore.
11. Rie fu - Star
Japanese / at Rie Sessions album [2010.3.31]
So unique and alluring. I've never heard her this way. It's a standout from all of the songs in her latest album. It has simple arrangements and a blend of unique elements.
12. Straightener - Owl
Japanese / Creatures album [2010.3.3]
1st track out of their latest album. This is how you start things off in an album; immediately catch their attention and hook it up with a noticeable guitar riff.
13. Sandwich - Line drawings
Filipino / S Marks the Spot album [2008.2.5]
Sandwich's latest album is miles greater than their previous's. I find every track different and not forgettable. This one is one of my favorites. I like their Tagaglog songs better but I chose this English one so you guys could understand.
14. Radioactive Sago Project - Bad motherfucker
Filipino / Urban Gulaman album [2004]
Being a jazz fusion rock band that focuses on issues such as politics, drugs & alcohol, this instrumental track suprised me. It sounds like it came from the 50's era. It's relaxing so I don't know why it's called a bad motherfucker.
15. Giniling Festival - Dodo
Filipino / Giniling Festival album
Kinda metal song that's about fake dodo / boobs. Pamela Anderson is mentioned wee! Filipino humor here. Hope you guys enjoy this.
16. Super Junior M - Blue Tomorrow
Chinese / Super Girl mini album [2009.9.25]
A pretty ballad from Super Junior M. It's hard trying to get over the leader's issue with the company & him leaving. Let's put that aside for now & focus on the beautiful voices here. Ahh what I would give for them to serenade me...
17. Love Psychedelico - Bring down the orion
Japanese / Abbot Kidney album [2010.1.13]
I bet the artist is heavily influenced by the Beatles and cowboys. It sounds western but you'd be surprised.
18. Ze:a - Mazeltov
Korean / Nativity [20101.1.12]
Another boy band on the rise in Korea. Personally I don't find them that good or attractive. I like B2st more. This is one of their better songs.
19. U-kiss - Man man ha ni remix
Korean / Only One album [2010.2.3]
I like this over the original version. It sounds better & has more of a fun side though it stayed very close to the original arrangement. My favorite part is the: you're such a bad bad girl and how they silenced the backgound to a few beats.
20. Siam - Love love love
Korean / Love love love Single [2010.4.7]
I'm annoyed by the guy's voice. I can't pin point it. It's just the way how he cuts the words. But it has some kind of appeal, I understand why he did that. I could ignore it but not for long. I don't know guys how 'bout u try it and tell me what you think.
21. Ang bandang Shirley - Patintero habulan larong kalye
Filipino / Themesong album [2008.9.1]
Papapararara. I love the guitar riffs man. It's sounds so magical. Suits the meaning of the song too.
22. Kamikazee - Seksi seksi
Filipino / Maharot album [2007.4.17]
Is it wrong for a girl to sing sexy sexy? Especially if it's about a guy stating how he finds a girl irresistably sexy. Well I don't care, I love this song & Kamikazee. Rockers fer life dood.
23. ONE OK ROCK - Jibun rock
Japanese / Jibun Rock promotional single[2010.4.28]
Rock, rock, rock on. This band is one of the reasons why I love Jrock. Theys sound so solid all the time & they have that certain power that I look for in songs.
24. NICO touches the walls - Hologram
Japanese / AUrora album [2009.11.25]
This band produces unique music all the time. It's very hard to pinpoint their style in one sample. They have great composition skills plus I really like the singer's voice; it's not typical.
25. Fuji Fabric - Teenager
Japanese / Teenager album [2008.1.23]
So fun and careless. Just like a teenager!
26. Muse - Hyper Music
English / Origin of Symmetry album [2005.7.17]
Mahgad how do I love Muse. If you haven't heard or listened to them, you should be ashamed. I really respect them & love their music. I'm a sucker for power riffs.
27. B2st - Easy
Korean / Shock of the New Era mini album [2010.3.2]
The melody reminds me of a certain English song. Like Usher because of the e-e-easy girl, she she she is gone part. Anyways, this is one of my favorites from their album.
28. Jealkb - Kiwadatasareta bibouJapanese / Makemagic single [2010.1.20]
This is so much like the album's first track but different in some way. It's a fun song. I feel sorry that the band is kinda underrated.
29. Andy Lee - Only you
Korean / Single Man album [2009.10.27]
Wahh watta cute & wonderful song arrangement. My favorite from his latest album. I like this better than his album's main attraction Single Man. I think he could've had a better hit with this one.
30. Cherry Filter - Sunday 4pm
Korean / Rocksteric album [2008.8.28]
I almost didn't recognize this as Korean. Guess it sounds different when sung differently. The singer is really talented & clearly belongs to the rock genre. I love her voice; it adds quality, personality & an extra oomph to the song.
31. Nanasa Aikawa - Back to the day
Japanese / Tattoo single [2009.11.11]
Okay another female in rock. I prefer Cherry Filter because I find this one lacking in commitment. Like all she does is sing the notes. But oh well she's backed up by great instrumentation which is sadly the case for most people.
32. Poe - Fall
Korean / Burnout mini album
Such a chilling song. I feel myself falling out of sanity or something. I hope to find more of Poe's music. I find their arrangements outstanding & their style unique.
33.F(x) feat. M.I.C. - Lollipop
Chinese / Lollipop digital release [2010.1.4]
I like this over Big Bang & 2NE1's version. It has a nicer beat. I could do the chest pump dance to this all night. This is a great song to promote a cellphone in China. I'd buy it!
34.M.I.C. - Great Trouble RnB Ver.
Chinese
A boy band in China that's still upcoming. They haven't released anything officialy but I found this on the net, also their commercial with F(x) so I was intrgued & ripped it haha. I like this over the original because I don't like how it's arranged. The rap really suits the RnB version. I can't wait
for their future release & I hope I won't be disappointed.
35.Bi(Rain) - Hip Song
Korean / Back to Basic [2010.3.30]
What better way to end this rotation by Rain's comeback hit? Welcome back Rain! I love love the beat man. It's slick, simple & sexy. Really his style. I'm kinda worried for the other artists, they might be toppled by him. He's out to reign Korea entertainment like he used to.
